WINGS OF EAGLES TO HOST COMIC CONVENTION
Wings of Eagles Discovery Center is pleased to announce that they will be the host of the 2013 Hero Bot Con, on Saturday, September 21, from 11 AM until 6 PM. An annual event organized by Page One Entertainment and Heroes Your Mom Threw Out Comic Shop, Hero Bot Con is the Twin Tiers’ largest Pop Culture and Comic Convention, featuring over 40 artists and writers, and over a dozen vendors.
Now located at 339 Daniel Zenker Drive in Horseheads, NY, Wings of Eagles Discovery Center opened the doors of their new 25,000 square-foot hangar in November of 2012. Inside is a wide range of aircraft, replicas, missiles, flight simulators and other items on display for public viewing. Throughout the year, the Discovery Center hosts numerous educational programs for all ages. This is the first time that they will host an event like Hero Bot Con.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with Page One Entertainment and Heroes Comic Shop to make this year’s Hero Bot Con a success.” said Stacey Brown, Director of Communications for Wings of Eagles Discovery Center. “The event will be a great day of art, pop culture and entertainment that we want to help grow into a major regional event for our area.”
Throughout the event, guests can attend question-and- answer panels hosted by comic industry professionals of various fields and experience levels. Additional event guests and activities will include: arcade game booths, tag Tagsylvania monsters, the CCLD Bookmobile, and “Blade” from the Elmira Jackals. Autographs from the participating writers and artists are free of charge to all attendees of the event. Food and refreshments will also be available, as Sweet-N-Saucy will be providing on-site catering at their Wings Café for the duration of the event.
In addition to hosting the event, Wings of Eagles Discovery Center will be selling memberships to their museum at a 50% discounted price until the end of the convention. Wings of Eagles members receive various incentives including admission and gift shop benefits.
General admission tickets to Hero Bot Con are seven dollars. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free when accompanied by a paid adult. Free general admission is also available for Wings of Eagles members, ASTC Passport holders, and Active Military Personnel (with proof of membership or military ID). VIP packages are also available. The VIP package includes early event admission, exclusive art prints, and more.
