  • Target Audience: Educators who teach grades 6 through Undergraduate level as well as Extension Educators and Pre-Service Educators
  • Goal: Inspire student interest in STEM and Agriculture related courses and career paths through the use of the program-related content and teaching tools

Overview

The Bioenergy and Bioproducts Education program is a USDA NIFA funded program that provides professional development opportunities for educators in the areas of Bioenergy and Bioproducts, Sustainability, and Systems Thinking. The program utilizes a suite of hands-on teaching tools, laboratory experiments, and classroom activities to convey the curriculum topics to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and Agriculture Educators. Educators who teach grades 6 through Undergraduate level as well as Extension Educators and Pre-Service Educators are the target audience.

The ultimate goal of the program is to inspire student interest in STEM and Agriculture related courses and career paths through the use of the program-related content and teaching tools. To accomplish this goal, the program provides opportunities to 90+ Educators each year who then teach the concepts in their classrooms and other teachers in their school, using the provided program teaching tools and kits. In addition to the materials provided here, more information is available upon request.
