In 2012, Dennis Hall was named Interim Director of the Ohio Bioproduct Innovation Center (OBIC). Under his leadership, OBIC has launched a new bioproduct industry-centric network and service oriented program to expedite bioproduct commercialization. In addition to OBIC, Dennis Hall is also a 6th generation Ohio farmer. He has a B.S. and M.S. from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, 1981; Vocational Agriculture Instructor, Ridgedale Local Schools, Ohio, 1981-1983; OSU Extension Agent, Agriculture and Community/ Natural Resource Development, Allen County, Ohio, 1983-1988; OSU Extension Agent, Agriculture and Community/ Natural Resource Development, Franklin and Madison Counties, Ohio, 1988-1992; OSU Extension Administrative Intern, Water Quality/ Project Director, Darby Creek Hydrologic Unit Area; 1992-1994; Operation Future, Project Director, OSU Extension (W.K. Kellogg Foundation Integrated Farming Initiative), 1994-2000; Project Director, Integrated Food and Farming Systems Network, 1998-2000; Leader, Legislative and County Relations, OSU College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, 2000-2001; Leader, Ecological Paradigm, OSU College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, 2001-2005; Assistant Director, Ohio BioProducts Innovation Center, OSU College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, 2005-2011.Specialties: Mr. Hall has assisted over 60 OBIC collaborators in securing $100+ million in supplemental funding to accelerate research and commercialization activities. Examples of these funded projects include support of industrial partners such as The Andersons, Cooper Tire, Sherwin Williams, Velocys, ADM, Egg Tech, quasar energy group, Vinyltech, NFCC, EMC2, and PSB supporting job growth and forming a bridge between academia and business.
