Mingxin Guo, Ph.D.

My expertise is of soil, water, and environmental chemistry, aiming to maximize crop production while minimize negative environmental impacts through best soil and water management practices. My academic interests are in land application of animal manure and biosolids, value-added utilization of agricultural byproducts, and bioenergy development from organic waste. On-going research includes transforming poultry litter to activated carbon, converting waste cooking oil to biodiesel, and generating biochar and bio-oil from crop residues. Realizing the importance of preparing competent professionals for the forthcoming bioeconomy, I am committed to this bioenergy and bioproducts education program and believe the efforts will help engage the general public in the sustainability and renewable energy movements.
