2013 Train-the-trainer program – Xavier Henry serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he is also currently pursuing his doctorate in Engineering and Aviation Science. For the past 5 years, Xavier has been teaching 45-50 undergraduate and dual-enrolled students in the Departments of Engineering & Aviation Science and Natural Resources. He has a passion for the outdoors and in his spare time enjoys fishing, cooking and flying airplanes. Xavier overcame a childhood fear of flying to become a licensed pilot! Xavier first became interested in renewable energy, sustainability, and environmental stewardship years ago, growing up in Antigua. Antigua is a small island in the Caribbean with limited resources, where issues of environmental stewardship are very important to the future sustainability of the area. Xavier Henry assisted with the one-week Teaching Partners workshop at University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Xavier participated in the 2013 Cornell University Train-the-trainer program both as participant and instructor, where he led one of the favorite lab activities: making soap from biodiesel glycerin!
