Summer Programs 2023

Quick Info-Summer 2022

  • Classes are available for the following age groups: Pre-K (Ages 3 to 4), Grades K-2, and Grades 3-8

  • In-person Day Camp $225 per student per week :
    1. Programs run weekly from 9am-3pm daily.
    2. Emergency contact information is needed for each student upon registration. (click here)
    3. Students will bring their own lunches.
    4. Day Camp class limit is 24 students.
    5. Extension Program (after camp care) from 3pm-5pm is available for $100 per student per week.
  • NOTE: Summer programs can be tailored to accommodate 7 or more students during the school year for on-site learning or learning at your location. Prices vary. Call for more information.

Overview

Wings of Eagles Discovery Center is proud to offer unique learning opportunities for children and young adults during the summer. Summer programs run weekly from 10 July 2023 to 01 September 2023. Mondays through Fridays 9am-3pm.

The registration fee is a non-refundable fee that must be paid at the time of registration. Payment Center

2023 Programs by Grade Level and Location

All programs will be held at Wings of Eagles Discovery Center unless otherwise indicated. Courses are listed by the grade your student completed at the end of the school year in May. Classes held at Wings of Eagles will be restricted to 24 students per in-person course topic.

Pre-K

  • Show MoreMaker Space Pre-K |This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings o Eagles staff is required. | This class is designed for our 3-4 year old learners and can be offered as a full day class. Students in this pre-k group will get an introduction to our maker space and will have the opportunity to explore and use engineering and math skills.  

Grades K-3

    • Maker Space Tot | This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings o Eagles staff is required. | Are you curious about how things work? You can use your own imagination and creativity during this week using Lego’s, simple science, and stories. Come explore with us! 
    • Maker Space Tot 2 | This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings o Eagles staff is required. | Come to our maker space and explore hands on crafts, sewing, 3D printing, Legos, programming and robotics. This session will focus on making with our little learners and will be part two of the class offered earlier during Summer Camps.  

Grades 4-8

    • Building Construction 1 | This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings of Eagles staff is required. | Our maker space's goal is to provide students with a hands-on, creative, user friendly, “anytime, anyplace”, opportunity to build and create things. This class will allow students the opportunities to use basic construction building tools. We will be constructing projects that could include yard games like corn hole and Yahtzee! If you joined us last year for one of our Summer camps then you can come again and make something brand new. 
    • NXT Mindstorm Robotics | This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings o Eagles staff is required.| Do you love the Disney / Pixar movie WALL·E? Do you like to build things using LEGOs? Have you ever thought about programing your own robot? If you answer yes to these questions our LEGO Robotics course is for you! This introductory course introduces students to the basics of NXT LEGO Robotics. Students will work in teams to design, build and program their own robots. Students will be involved with programming their robots through several challenges. 
    • EV3 Mindstorm | This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings of Eagles staff is required. | Come and experience the newest addition to the Lego team of robots. This newer system allows students to engineer and design brand new builds and increase their programing skills. If they like NXT, they will love EV3.

    • SNAP (Coding) |This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings of Eagles staff is required.| SNAP! is a visual, drag-and-drop programming language. User can create new and exciting computer programing modules. This class is a great introduction to programing and as the ability to be fun and exciting for students who are also experienced in computer programing. 
    • Bridge Class | Offered only during Summer Camps between morning sessions and afternoon sessions when classes are 1/2 days.| Bridge Daily 1130am-1230pm program offers students a chance to sign up for a morning --OR --afternoon class in their age range and stay with us for additional STEM programming the museum offers during "lunch".For an additional $25.00 students pack their lunch and get to experience hands on activities and science demos until the next class starts.
    • Fast and Furious |This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings of Eagles staff is required. | Learn science and math while building small engines. Have you ever wondered why those fast and furious cars move so fast? This hands-on camp will teach you not only the parts of the engine but how fuel is burned and what makes every day diesel and gas equipment run.
    • Forensics |This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings of Eagles staff is required.| Solve the mystery at the museum while building your skills at forensics. This class will take a look back at murder mysteries from the past. You will use your STEM skills to solve the case. 
    • Rocketry |This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings of Eagles staff is required. | Rockets are the oldest form of self-contained vehicles in existence. Early rockets were in use more than two thousand years ago. Over a long and exciting history, rockets have evolved from simple tubes filled with black powder into mighty vehicles capable of launching a spacecraft out into the galaxy. Few experiences can compare with the excitement and thrill of watching a rocket-powered vehicle, such as the Space Shuttle, thunder into space. Dreams of rocket flight to distant worlds fire the imagination of both children and adults. Come to Wings of Eagles and learn the science behind rocks. Be ready to Build and Fly your very own rocket

      • Fun with Science! |This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings of Eagles staff is required.| Household products are curiously inspiring: With a splash of food coloring and a teaspoon each of liquid starch and glue, We can concoct an elastic, Slimy glob technically known as a "non-Newtonian fluid. We even make our own bubble gum! Come out and enjoy our course in the hands on and edible. 
      • Forensics | This class can be tailored for Homeschool groups during the school year of 7 children or more. Coordination with Wings of Eagles staff is required.| Solve the mystery at the museum while building your skills at forensics.
